PRE-EMPLOYMENT AND SAFETY SCREENING PROCESSES
Melba will undergo the following Pre-employment and Safety screening processes before offering employment and permitting any applicant to commence work. All information received by Melba will be treated in a confidential manner in accordance with relevant employment and privacy legislation, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme, VEVO and the Department of Health and Human Services’ recruitment, safety screening and performance monitoring requirements.
Melba will complete a minimum of 2 reference checks prior to employment being offered.
National and International Police Checks
All prospective employees must have a satisfactory National (and where relevant International) Police Record check prior to the commencement of employment.
Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme (DWES) Checks
The DWES is an employment screening safety check designed to protect the safety and wellbeing of Victorians living with disability and applies to all disability services (as defined by the Disability Act 2006).
Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) Check
Melba is required to conduct a VEVO Check for any persons who are not a permanent resident and/or hold a currently working visa to work in Australia.
